  • "Absolute F&R" makes it work well on the front or rear

It was baptism by fire so it's ironic that the name of the tire I rode was Cinder. I got a chance to ride the Panaracer Cinder tire for the first time at my Adventure Race. I was a bit apprehensive riding an untried tire cold turkey at my first race of the season but I was pleasantly surprised. The Cinder came through and proved to be a great all-purpose tire. We had the opportunity to ride some hard pack, some technical single track a few stretches of road... oh yea and it poured for a bit so there was plenty of mud. The Cinders felt solid through it all.

I was impressed with the way the tire cornered and traction on climbs was phenomenal. I was out of the saddle pedaling hard and there was no slipping what so ever. The Cinders shed mud very well and once again I found the traction to be exceptional. Gravel proved to be a little challenging for the tires and it was the only time I noticed a slight slipping but it was not a great concern. The tires were also a little slow on the road section of the ride but, hey, they are MTB tires so that is really neither here nor there. So to sum it up, I found the Cinder to be a great all around tire. Excellent traction, performance and mud shedding make it a solid choice for the trails.
