It's only fair to start this review with a disclaimer - I'm a huge fan of Seal Line products. I've been using their dry bags for years kayaking and they are the bomb. Waterproof, durable and simple in design, they are an integral piece of equipment in my kayaking arsenal. So when the opportunity came up to review their Urban Backpack I jumped at the opportunity. I tested the large size bag that boasts a rather large capacity of 37 liters. This is a big bag that has been designed to carry a lot of gear. Featuring Seal Lines tried and true roll-top closure system, your gear is pretty much guaranteed to stay bone dry. All the seams are reinforced and welded shut creating a super water tight system. A simple yet effective QuickClip closure fastens the bag down and you are good to go. The bag itself is made of PVC-free 300D PU coated polyester and scrim-reinforced urethane. Translation... this bag is constructed of thick yet pliable

  2. Breathable ergonomic shoulder straps
  3. Breathable waterproof back panel
  4. Sternum and waist strap

  6. Carry handle
polyurethane that is super tough and will withstand almost any beating you dish out; while keeping your stuff safe from the elements. The bag itself is not padded so if you plan on transporting anything fragile, make sure to pack it carefully.

The bag comes with ergonomic and padded shoulder straps that adjust to fit your body and keep the pack snugly on your frame. A necessary feature that Seal Line also thought to include is the breathable back panel on the pack. This way your body heat has somewhere to go rather than building up and trapping sweat between you and the pack. I rode the pack during a moderate rainstorm and filled it with magazines, notebooks a change of clothes and sneakers. I figured I'd ride to a friendís house and see how my wares faired. Although I was soaked through when I arrived, all my gear stayed dry. I knew it would, this is what Seal Line does. To further test the bag, I once again filled it with items and took the hose to it for a good 15 minutes and hit it from every angle. Same result, my gear stayed dry.

Seal Line Urban Backpack Reviewed

Seal Line has been in the business of making waterproof bags for over 20 years and I can say the products they manufacture reflect that level of experience. If you are looking for a backpack style bag to keep your gear dry, look no further than the Urban Backpack by Seal Line. Although the pack carries a hefty price tag of $119.95 it will last you a lifetime and more than earn its keep. Although this review is for pedalpushersonline.com, which is geared toward cyclists, I have to say this bag offers users infinitely more possibilities. Kayakers, motorcyclists, hikers, and just about anyone who finds themselves playing/working out in the rain and needs a backpack to keep their stuff dry should seriously consider the Seal Line Urban Backpack.
