Why I Ride

I ride for quite a few reasons. When I'm on the bicycle, my mind is clear. I take that time to sight-see and explore my surroundings. I find that I notice so much more while on a bicycle than driving in a car. I also notice the scents of my surroundings. Some of them are scents that you would rather not notice, but the majority are scents of the flowers, trees, morning dew, etc.

Favorite Ride

I also ride because I like the freedom of being on a bicycle. I can go wherever I want whenever I want. I love to ride on a traffic free path where I can just keep on going. One path I love is Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn. I ride over the Marine Parkway Bridge into Fort Tilden. There is a path along the back of the Fort that I like to ride which leads to the bunkers. The path is surrounded by tall grass and pretty deserted. All I can hear are the sounds of the birds flying above the beach and the waves crashing on the sand.

But, most of all I ride because it's what I love to do.
