The Roadie: "Simplicity and beauty are two terms that are often associated. Revered works of art especially modern art are often minimalist in their portrayal of themes and or concepts. A simple gesture drawing of six strokes can describe a face, a form or a family. A simple sphere with an intruding cylinder can be cast in bronze and mounted in a fountain for generations to contemplate and enjoy!"
The Cyclocross Dude: "Hey dude If I wanted an art lesson. I'd go to the Brooklyn Museum, whazzup?
The Roadie: "Simplicity, the absence of clutter the purity of form, the cleansing necessity of function, all these are inherent in pure design!"
The Mountain Biker: "Yeah, well like he said, Yeah I kinda agree! Straight down, Simple right break, then flat out, a jump, some air, then a plant! Purfekt!"
The Roadie: "A Paved Path, a ridge line, a following breeze, no cars, no dogs, my thoughts and my bike! Simply Perfection."
How often do we strive for simplicity? "Gee I wish my life were simpler," or "Why cant these instructions be simpler?" or "Windows vs. a Mac!" or "Why can't Gary ever got to the point?"
Several years ago I bought a product. It looked effective and more importantly, and just as importantly, it looked really simple! At the time the only place I could find this product was at the manufacturer's online web store. I bought four of them! I am still using three. I saved one to shoot for this review, although it was a long time in coming. I present this product to you here! It is the Leonardo Bike Hook by Delta Bike. And it is perfect!
This device is fashioned from one plate drilled to accept two lag bolts (supplied) and then a simple single piece of bar steel is bent into a curve and welded into place creating pure, functional, pleasing form. To name this device after an artist is only perfect! It is pure art! It is Leonardo!
INSTALLATION: Find a stud in your wall. Locate the hook far enough up the wall to keep you bike comfortably off the floor, yet within reach. Drill two pilot holes through the pre drilled holes in Leonardo's plate. Insert the lag bolts into the holes and drive them home. Hang up your bike!
What could be simpler, more beautiful? Look at the pictures, it's that simple.
10 out of 10! Simple!
