When I ride my bike in some of the parks and on the streets of Long Island I see a lot of people riding without a helmet. Are these people nuts? I really wonder sometimes. Maybe its because some helmets are uncomfortable. Maybe they don't fit correctly, or maybe they are too expensive.
I've been riding with this helmet for about 3 months. I like the way it fits. I like the way it looks. It doesn't weigh a lot. So I wear it every time I ride.
Well this helmet is the solution.
It is comfortable. It has a great system to allow for a comfortable fit. And the price is right.
At only 298 grams its quite light. It looks good on my head. I DO NOT ride without it.
I used to ride without a helmet when I was younger. I used to think they were unnesessary. Then one day I saw bicycle messenger being attended to by NYC EMS. He was on a stretcher and there was a wound on his forehead that looked like someone forced a golf ball under the skin. I bought a helmet the next day. Unfortunately it wasn't very comfortable. So I would wear it sporadically. On short rides to the store I wouldn't. On long rides I would. But I never liked wearing it. I started training for a charity ride so I figured I should get a better helmet. So I did. It was more comfortable, but it was a little heavy and I didnít like the way it looked on my head. Then a few months ago I saw this helmet on sale at Bike Nashbar. I couldn't beat the price so I bought it. It comes with a visor attached. Some of you may like visors but I don't so I took it off.
