Travel Series: Destination West Coast
We wanted to offer our readers a chance to experience exploration Pedal Pushers style, hence we inaugurated our Travel Series. If you've been keeping up with our newsletters, you've seen announcements of the forthcoming destinations. In line for this summer we have The West Coast Series, Chicago, Pedros Fest, The Catskill Day Trip/weekender and a few others. It is our intention to present an alternative look at the best ways to travel to these destinations in a less mainstream way and to help you plan an unforgettable adventure travel vacation of your own.
The first of the series is the West Coast... For the past few months, our West Coast Correspondent Larry "Never Half Empty" Rosa has been telling us how great the California riding has been. In the meantime, New Yorkers have been kooked up indoors dealing with snow, slush and bitter cold. The racing season in California started back in January when riding seemed like distant dream to East Coasters. Each day new race reports have come in from Larry, almost as if to taunt us about our unsufferable weather. So, we decided to make a trip out to the left coast and to cut through the hype and see what it really had to offer.
Our goal was not only to see for ourselves but to bring back a taste of the what an adventure traveler could expect from the West. We hope that the stories that are to follow can help others see California the best way... on two wheels.
