Kinesys SPF 30+ Performance Sunscreen Cream is terrific!
We were in Chicago for a Bike the City review and I purposely held back on reviewing this Kinesys product until then. Why? Because Chicago summers are hot, muggy, and mercilessly and unreletingly sunny!
My first day in Chicago, I took out the bottle and got ready to apply it before setting out for what I thought would be a casual ride. I was dismayed to see, and notice for the first time that this was a cream product. Again I expected the worst, you know slimy greasy, like a cream product. Again I was pleasantly surprised! This is the first cream product sunscreen I have ever actually liked.
Back to the ride, I thought it would be an easy ride, but instead I got caught up in a hammerfest and worked up one hell of a sweat. As we rocketed along the trail between the sun dessicated grass fields along the trail, you could feel the sun beating down on every point of exposed skin. I fully expected to be burnt...
The next day was a much longer ride - about four hours. Same basic scenario, smeered the stuff on before setting out, and did not think about it again. Very sweaty day, one where you come back with gritty salty sandpaper stuck to every exposed point of skin. The combination of your dried on sweat and the road grime turns you into something like what you would use to scrub a dirty frying pan. Gotta be burnt...?
The third day... Chicagoans love parades! I don't know what it is about parades and the Mid West, but here a parade is a major event. As we arrived Cori and I smeered on the Kinesys Cream and we walked, gawked, walked, and gawked. This parade was more than four hours long, and we walked the along route from beginning to end watching it. Along the way we hydrated with a malt beverage or maybe a few, and by the end of the parade, we simply weren't thinking about much about the sun which of course was unrelenting.
Yeah great, but how about the review dude?
The stuff just works. What can I say? I have been out in the sun for a while this season (when it is out on Long Island) so I have a base tan. But Cori, my librarian daughter, has fairer, almost translucent skin, and she being out there for five hours should have turned rosy red. Not a drop!
Once applied this cream literally disappears - as you apply it. Compared to other products, which you have to practically use a buffer in order to work them into your skin, Kinesys readily evaporates, or is absorbed, and after that you merely forget about it and it works. You are simply unaware you have it on.
This is a definitely a product that I will continue to use.
