The Sugoi Traverse's are designed to be a casual sport short. Ample Cut from a stretchy fabric the Traverse's are loose fitting for comfort. They are not spandexy, clingy tights that racers wear during their events. The baggy fit of the Traverse's makes them perfect for "After-race" or "knock-around" shorts. Post-race, you want to throw on something comfy to give your legs a rest and at least resemble "street" clothes. So, you slide into your Sugoi's and bam, instant comfort and no funny looks when you hit your post-race pit to refuel. Or let's say it's your turn to watch the kids while your spouse is running errands, you want to take the little buggers to the park on their bikes. Your race-cut bib tights are way over-qualified here so, you employ the relaxed Traverse's for the task at hand.
The other place the Traverses will shine is for people who are serious about their riding but just can't get into the whole spandex thing. The technical fabrics and comfortable seams make these better and more comfortable then the average pair of shorts would be. Plus, the "normal" look of these shorts will perhaps be a bit less shocking to your co-workers when you stroll in from your bike commute and thus make less grief for you at the office.
My only real problem with the Traverse is the extra long cut. Now, granted I am fairly short dude but I saw someone who was 6'1" wearing this same size shorts I wore and they were still down past his knees. I could see the extra length getting in the way if you really started spinning. The cut of the rear is shaped enough to move with your body pretty well but the legs are definitely too long.
Overall the Traverses are a good comfortable short that serve a wide range of uses.
