Yeah I know, you're not gonna believe one word we say about these jerseys are you? I mean would we slam our own product? Well yeah we would if we needed to, but, we don't! We checked these jerseys out before we ordered them from Squadra and they are terrific!

Made of Momentum they are cut for performance fit. For those of you who don't know what this mean, it means they are very close fitting. This is done so that the jersey stretches slightly and creates a smooth surface on your body to enhance airflow and reduce drag. This means that you can not be particularly sensitive about your body shape as there will be nothing to hide.

OK now that we have gotten over that, these Jerseys are sharp looking, but more importantly the wick like mad, they are very aerodymanic, and they help reduce road rash because they are slippery. Way back in my motorcycling days there were tests run to see what worked best to avoid or reduce abrasion during a pavement slide. The answer was leather. But leather has certain drawbacks for cyclinsts, its heavy hot and not particularly flexible. But the next best thing they discovered was thin, slippery man made fabrics, simply because they are slippery and do not abrade as quickly as a result, so quite simply you slide rather than wear away.

I have had the opportunity to test this theory! Twice! The first test crash was on the Bethpage Trail. The jersey I was wearing was a knit, slightly "rough" open weave fabric, comfortable, but not particularly slippery. I crashed over the bars and slid along on my left shoulder and hip, and I won loads of battle scars.

The second test run was this summer with Dan when I went over the bars again and once again slid along on my left shoulder. There is a tiny abrasion on the jersey shoulder and there was a really great bruise on my shoulder, but there was no road rash anywhere the jersey covered me.

This is not an empirical study, but I firmly believe that this jersey helped me avoid further injury! Besides that It looks GREAT!

Cut from the same cloth that professional race teams wear, this Castelli jersey is one of the best on the market. Castelli's proprietary Momentum fabric has a dimpled surface that takes advantage of the same aerodynamic benefits that are used in golf balls and on the rims of ZIPP Speed weaponry wheelsets. Said to shave seconds off your time trail, it'll make your day if you're a racer and it'll just plain feel good if you're not.

This jersey is race fit and will act as a second skin. It moves with your body and will wick away even the most profuse perspiration. I can't get over how comfortable this jersey really is. For three days straight, covering almost 300 miles, I wore these on my last charity ride. I experienced nothing but comfort (from the jersey). The Momentum fabric feels like a natural material against your skin but works better then the best synthetic technical fabrics, giving you everything you need from a jersey.

As Gary mentioned earlier, the fabric of this jersey works to combat road rash. Because of the fact that they outfit professional athletes, Castelli knows better then anyone else that crashing is an unavoidable part of cycling. So, their fabrics are engineered to have great tensile strength in the direction of skids to prevent their clothing from tearing (as much as possible).

The wrap up:
Hands down, of all of the jerseys that I have ever owned, this one is by far the best. It's the pinnacle of jerseyness because it feels good, fits right, and looks sharp.
