As a new rider I bought what I thought was a decent helmet. Although shaped like a bubble, it came with decent ratings, so I threw vanity to the wind and began my crash training in the green bubble helmet. I developed a nagging neck ache when I rode for any length of time, my head was hot and sweaty, and the helmet caused some scalp "hot spots" most likely from friction due to a poor fit.
Then I tried the Rudy Project Ayron and all my problems (at least from the neck up) cleared up. First, the helmet has multiple adjustment fittings so there is no helmet movement and the strap below the neck is padded. No more friction or "hot spots". Second, the helmet is very lightweight, so my neck no longer ached. Third, the Rudy Project Helmet is very well ventilated and the heat isn't trapped inside it. So on the hot summer days, I was riding much more comfortably. As an added bonus, the helmet has sleek styling and a streamlined shape. Finally, although I haven't put it to the crash test, I know my head is protected to the max because I have come to trust the quality of the Rudy Project products. I would definitely recommend the Rudy Project helmet - it is a five star product.
