The blossoms are finally on the tomato vines, and the butterfly bush is thinking about blooming. The echoes of fireworks have finally subsided and the fragrance of barbeques, hot dogs, and hamburgers are all conspiring to turn our minds to... PEDROSFEST!
It's that glorious time of the year when the denizens of the deep woods turn out on the East Coast to travel to mountain bike Mecca. The religious pilgrimage of the dirt bike faithful is literally days away and Pedal Pushers Online is packing up all our gear and heading up to bring you the latest news, photos and products happening at the Festival.
Stay tuned for Articles, Galleries, Videos, and loads of great reporting from Hancock, Massachusetts or better yet, get in your car, throw your gear on top and head up to Pedrosfest yourself for a few days of fun in the sun on bike back! Who knows, maybe our roving reporters and photographers will find you and you will appear on Pedal Pushers Online instead of reading about it.
This year Pedros has a little different focus, they've opened their doors wider than ever to advocacy groups and focused intently upon becoming even more friendly to the environment. Here's a quote from a recent Pedrosfest Press Release.
"This year Pedro's Festival hopes it will also attract the attention of environmentally focused non-profit organizations to help spread the word about the importance of protecting and respecting the planet by offering exhibitor space at this year's Festival at no cost. "The goal of the offering is for the Festival to provide a platform for information sharing and education-oriented activities." said Festival Director, Terry Fina.
"For 12 years, Pedro's Festival has celebrated healthy lifestyles, appreciation for nature and the appreciation of our surroundings, families and fun. This year we are formalizing our commitment to the environment and our pledge to sustain the natural resources that we enjoy when we camp, bike and kick back off the bike," continued Fina. "We are working to reduce our ecological footprint in every aspect of the Festival's production. From reducing solid waste through increased recycling efforts to providing participants the opportunity to purchase Pedro's Fest Carbon Mutual Fund Stickers to offset the ecological footprint of their participation in the Festival we're hope to create the biggest climate neutral party in Western Massachusetts."
