The Rudy Project Monopack is a slick bag that is cross-strapped over one shoulder. It's a tidy black pack that will store ample goods in its multitude of useful nooks and crannies. The main pack area is large enough to hold a helmet and some books, plus there is a built in CD/MP3 player holster that hangs from the roof of the sack. There is a multi-pocketed pen pouch that could be used for writing implements or a couple of bike tools, on the top side of the bag. Built into the Mono-strap are two zippered pockets, one for a cell phone or PDA the other could be used for pens, tools, etc. As you can see there is a bevy of available storage space.

You ask, is it durable?
Well, from what I can see yes! I frequently take it with me on day trips, often stuffed to the gills with either gear, books or techie geek stuff. The materials are strong, and nicely constructed. The zippers have held soundly even when the bag is heavily laden. The seams are bolstered with durable stitching. The part of the bag that rests against your back is padded and the mono-strap is broad to allow for a great degree of comfort.

Fit and Finish:
The Monopack is subtly styled and looks pretty sharp. Nice touches like the oversized zippers and top carry handle make this pack convenient. Cool features like the the headphone port make it a pleasure to use.

Pros/Cons:
The Rudy Monopack performs quite well. It's sturdy, comfortable, stylish and can carry more gear then you will probably need. In my opinion its a great pack, I would however like to see it weigh a few ounces less. Of course I am a weight weenie....
